Meet the New Mercedes-EQ Lineup
Mercedes-EQ is ushering in a new era of low- to no-emissions vehicles that embody the beautiful spirit of the Mercedes brand. Every car and SUV will present sustainability, efficiency, performance, and design. The first three all-electric vehicles to wear the 2022 Mercedes-EQ badge are the EQS, the EQB, and the EQE.
The EQS is the first-of-its-kind, a fully electric luxury vehicle with premium amenities. The EQB is an all-electric, all-terrain SUV with masterful capability and available seating for up to seven. The EQE is a mid-size sedan with E-Class roots, all-electric power, and a driving range of over 300 miles.
What is Mercedes-Benz EQ Boost?
Before all-electric cars became the next big thing, the engineers at Mercedes-Benz were perfecting the Mercedes-Benz EQ boost system. This mild-hybrid system uses a 48-volt electrical construction to increase the performance and efficiency of an internal combustion engine.
The system allows the powertrain to shut down under certain driving conditions (when in Eco mode) to help improve fuel economy. Mercedes-Benz engineers call this engineless coasting ‘sailing’. The technique brought Mercedes-Benz gas-powered vehicles that much closer to full hybrid technology.
Test Drive a New Mercedes-EQ Vehicle
The new Mercedes-EQ line sets benchmarks in performance capability. These vehicles pair synchronous electric motors—known for their high-efficiency, small size, and high torque at low speeds—with lithium-ion batteries stowed beneath the vehicle floor to leave more interior space for passengers and technology.
Beyond performance, Mercedes-EQ vehicles also set new highs in imaginative and innovative technology, like the available MBUX Hyperscreen, a 56-inch curved glass instrument panel that spans the length of the dashboard from door-to-door to provide a seamless, intuitive interface.
To learn more about the exciting new Mercedes-EQ line, stop into Mercedes-Benz of Gainesville today and talk to one of our knowledgeable sales people. While you’re here, take a test drive to see what emissions-free innovation feels like.
